I Became the Heavenly Venerable's Stand-In Secret Identity

The Wuji Sword Sect produced a genius, whose cultivation surpassed the sect leader's at a young age. He was known as the Venerable Xuanchen. The whole martial world admired him like the endless waters of a great river, longing for a chance to behold his elegant bearing. Shen Zhiyu's little sect was so poor it could barely afford food, and it owed the Wuji Sword Sect a mountain of debt. As their creditor grew stronger by the day, the sect leader sent him down the mountain to earn money. Before he left, the sect leader warned him, "If you see anyone from the Wuji Sword Sect, run. If you can't outrun them, call them Dad. As long as the green hills remain, there's no shortage of firewood." Shen Zhiyu: "...All right." * As soon as Shen Zhiyu left the mountain, he happened to save someone. The onlookers cheered. Amid all the commotion, a burly man at the next table leaned over with a grin and asked, "What's your name, little brother?" Shen Zhiyu thought: You didn't say a word while I was saving someone, so why do you care what my name is? He sneered, "Xuanchen's Dog." "..." The whole place fell dead silent. The burly man's companions all turned to look, revealing behind them an elegant man in a bamboo hat. * The burly man and his companions admired his extraordinary nerve and asked him to act as a secret identity for the Venerable Xuanchen, serving as bait. Shen Zhiyu looked at the five hundred taels of silver on the table and readily agreed. Pretending to be the number one martial artist in the world wasn't bad, especially when he was getting paid. Shen Zhiyu played his role with dedication every day: "I am Xuanchen, here to deal with calamity!" "I'll beat you with fists and kicks: I'm number one in the martial world!" Thanks to his tireless efforts, the "Venerable Xuanchen" became famous far and wide, and even seemed poised to unite the martial world... His traveling companion was very fond of him, and the two got along wonderfully. Except for the man in the bamboo hat, whose gaze grew increasingly complicated. *A silly, sweet martial-world comedy [Blurb documented with screenshots on Weibo, 2021.11.18] Theme: What peaceful years?
