A healing, redemptive story set among ordinary people and at school.
One-on-one romance, both leads have no prior partners.
A timid, sensitive girl and a rebellious, direct boy.
When she was sixteen or seventeen, in the bloom of youth, Lu Zheng met a boy who was like sunshine.
His hands were untouched by the world's grime, and his smile could chase away all the gloom in the world.
She had thought there would never be anything between them.
At Yicheng No. 1 High School, the boy nicknamed the once-in-eight-hundred-years heartthrob of Yicheng was called Song Siyang.
Naturally rebellious, he never bowed his head to anyone, and he had a level of cleanliness most people couldn't tolerate.
Some people even said he had a strange quirk: he was afraid of women.
Lu Zheng always went out of her way to avoid annoying him, and only dared to watch him from afar.
Later, someone saw that clean-freak boy carrying Lu Zheng to class. She had fallen into the sand pit while doing the long jump and was covered in dirt.
As everyone laughed and exchanged bewildered looks, he bent down and gently pressed her ankle. His voice was tender and full of concern. "Does it still hurt, dummy?"
Just when everyone thought Song Siyang had already pushed the limits of how kind he could be to Lu Zheng,
he went on to spoil her without restraint.
Whenever he held a sad Lu Zheng in his arms, all his usual roguishness and coldness melted away.
He wiped her tears while bending over to apologize without a moment's hesitation.
After they started working, Lu Zheng browsed the internet and eagerly joined a discussion titled "What's it like to be confessed to by your secret crush?" She wrote an answer based on herself and Song Siyang.
Song Siyang found her post and read it from start to finish. Then he offered some advice: "A secret crush? I thought you were openly in love with me."
"?"
When someone asked what strange quirks her boyfriend had, Lu Zheng said, "My boyfriend used to be afraid of women, but I cured him!"
Song Siyang heard her sounding rather proud and laughed. "That's because I only let you get close to me. I'm afraid of women, not you."
Note: I really do want to write a good school romance!!
