A Magpie Startled from Its Branch

● Big size difference x very loose characterization x old-school melodramatic style

● A facade of refined gentility x a bright little fox raised in doting luxury

When Li Changbie recites, "The bright moon startles magpies from the branches; the night breeze sets cicadas singing,"

Meng Jingque suddenly smiles and teases him: "Master, you got that wrong."

"It's not the bright moon rising over the treetops that startles the magpies." She blinks and leans closer, her eyes sparkling, exceptionally playful. "It's Changbie."

Changbie startles the magpies from the branches.

Changbie has thrown the magpies into disarray.

-The blurb may change before the story begins.

The characterization is very loose. Nitpickers, keep away.
