As the Light Saintess of the Light God Church, the faith with the most followers on the continent, Stia had always been respected and beloved by the people.
They all said she was the Light God's incarnation in the mortal world. Wherever the Saintess went, the skies were sunny. With a simple lift of her hand, she could rouse crowds of the wounded. Her heart, like the Light God's, overflowed with compassion for all people. She was kind and warm.
But she had a secret.
She had transmigrated into a book, specifically a harem novel from a certain web-fiction site.
The story was a hackneyed power fantasy about a male lead who wanted to become the strongest person on the continent. He built a harem of beautiful girls, defeated everyone on the continent, and eventually became a new god.
As one of the male lead's harem members, she was a textbook lovesick fool. She followed him around all day, healing him and his harem. She was so generous with her healing that it was almost ridiculous.
Then, at the climax, when the male lead was on the brink of death, she used a resurrection spell and traded her life for his. She saved him and helped pave the way for his happy ending with the official heroine.
Stia (meme of an old man staring at his phone on the subway): Damn, what kind of awful ending is that?
So she dumped the scumbag at once and planned to stay holed up in her own temple until she died.
But...
The Light God sent down a divine decree, ordering her to join the scumbag on his journey to save the continent.
So, as a poor overworked wage slave, Stia had no choice but to set off alone on her journey... Just kidding.
The smiling beggar by the roadside who threatened to dock her pay if she left without him was actually the Light God.
The Water God, who had just taken his first sip at the tavern before getting drunk and tearfully begging her not to go, was there too.
And the Dark God, who had dark circles under his eyes every day, was working himself to death helping his colleagues take care of their business.
All Stia could say was: Don't you have anything else to do?
She was only here to save the continent. Why had you all fallen for her?
Reader's Guide:
1. There may be more than the three gods mentioned in the blurb.
2. A self-indulgent work, not a traditional Western fantasy novel.
3. The original female characters aren't villains.
