Twenty-nine-year-old Satomi Kiyoi watched helplessly as a violent explosion reduced his home to nothing. He found nothing but a handful of ash.
He'd just bought it! Paid in full! A brand-new house he hadn't even had the chance to spend one night in! Aaaaaaaaaah!
And the culprit responsible for all of it was a Japanese police officer named Rei Furuya, who stood nearby apologizing over and over!
For a miserable, money-obsessed corporate drone whose motto was "You can scam me out of anything, even my body, but don't you dare take my money," Rei Furuya had become the sworn enemy he dreamed of grinding to dust. The kind of enemy where it was either him or me.
On the day he planned to carry out his scheme, he was reborn.
He was reborn as an elementary school student.
"Even heaven is on my side!"
Satomi Kiyoi sighed to the sky, already sentencing Rei to death in his mind.
This was a godsend! He had to nip the tragedy in the bud and stop it at its source!
It took him ages to find the blond, dark-skinned mixed-race kid. Just as he was about to push him into a river, he lost his footing and fell in himself.
Satomi Kiyoi: "..."
Help! He couldn't swim!
Sixteen years later.
Satomi Kiyoi stood glowering in front of a stone monument at the entrance. On his left was Hiromitsu Morofushi, and on his right was Rei Furuya.
The monument clearly read: Metropolitan Police Academy.
Satomi Kiyoi: "..."
Why, after sixteen years, had he still not killed Rei Furuya, and why was he going to police academy instead?! Why?!
Rei Furuya saw the miserable look on the face of the man beside him, as if he were staring at something disgusting. He patted his shoulder reassuringly. "Your body may be so weak I could pin you down with one finger, but you really did get into the police academy. This isn't a dream. It's real."
He'd known Satomi Kiyoi long enough to realize the guy couldn't control his facial expressions and was a deadpan oddball, often wearing an expression completely at odds with what he was thinking. So if he looked like he was about to throw up, it must be because he was overjoyed.
He understood. He sympathized.
He even thought it was kind of cute.
"...Haha."
Satomi Kiyoi forced an ugly smile. This had to be a dream. Otherwise, why was Rei Furuya still alive?
And what was wrong with this body of his?
He clearly remembered being different! Back then he was strong and healthy, ate and slept well, and was a top-tier corporate drone who could stay up all night for five days straight, working on a proposal!
So what was going on with this body that couldn't lift or carry anything, tripped over random stones in the road, and was so unlucky it could make him Japan's number one walking disaster?
Twenty-three years later.
Satomi Kiyoi lay on the bed with a blank expression. In the same bed, sleeping soundly with an arm around his shoulder, was a man with familiar blond hair and dark skin.
It was Rei Furuya.
His sworn enemy, the one he would never make peace with.
What had happened?
Was this really happening?
Why was he in bed with his enemy?
Satomi Kiyoi didn't know. He knew nothing at all. He had completely given up thinking.
His life had been like a wild horse with its reins cut, impossible to control or predict. It had never gone the way he wanted, not even for a second.
Rei Furuya: A wild horse with its reins cut? The reins are firmly in my hands.
As the title says, the love interest is Mr. Furuya!
The blurb is just for reference!
A silly, mindless story.
Let's just say this is going to be a sweet romance.
Theme: Charge!
