It was an ordinary summer day when a remote city in the northwest was hit by a rare torrential rainstorm.

At the same time, strange weather phenomena occurred around the world, and talk of the apocalypse once again shot to the top of the trending searches.

Then, in the dead of night, an electronic voice appeared in everyone's mind.

[To facilitate management, cities are temporarily unable to communicate with or travel to one another. People currently away from home must use the System panel within five minutes to choose whether to bring their luggage and relocate to the city where their own home or a relative's home is located. Those with neither a home nor relatives will be assigned a System shelter in their place of household registration.

[Before You Read]

* The story is entirely fictional, with no zombies, and features a partly ensemble cast.

* The main characters are all ordinary people. They won't become the strongest, though they'll still get a little bit of a golden finger (the author's favorite). So they won't be too weak, either: think skilled gamers who are just a little below the pros.

* The author doesn't want to write about people fighting one another. There will be very little of that, and those scenes will be glossed over. The focus will be more on working together and how human determination can triumph over adversity.

* My writing and understanding are limited. Please point out any plot holes, and I'll try to fix what I can. But please don't argue. Let's keep the comments section civil, for everyone's benefit.

* The male lead is a background character who won't appear until later.
