She is the empress dowager, and she is a loyal minister. They should have made a fine story of sovereign and subject.

Who could have guessed?

Once the realm is at peace, the loyal minister develops a rebellious streak.

She has loved the empress dowager for years. Now that she holds great power, she may as well use it to get something for herself.

Empress Dowager Yuchi: Grand Commandant Yan, do you think I am someone you can trifle with?

Grand Commandant Yan: I've already done it. Since I'm going to lose my head anyway, I might as well see this through as a traitor and rebel.

Special note: The young emperor is the empress dowager's biological daughter.
