Advance preview for the sweet romance The Magpie Loved in the Branches, synopsis below!
Synopsis:
Meng Suisui, the daughter of a military man, leaves home to marry on the same day as the princess. She is sent far away to marry a border general said to bring death to his wives, while the princess is sent to the Northern Dynasty for a political marriage.
Before she reaches the border city, however, assassins pursue her. In the ensuing chaos, Meng Suisui takes the princess, who is hiding with her to escape the danger, and they flee in the bridal sedan. But the princess gets out halfway, while Meng Suisui falls into a cage from which there is no escape.
The place she has been sent to is not a land of windblown sand and stones, but a place of red walls, yellow tiles, and shadowy figures. Before she can even meet her husband, Meng Suisui is given a hard time. She fumbles through the formalities and hears people mock the Jin princess for knowing no manners. Her legs go weak, and she pitches straight into the man she has been sent to marry. Through her veil, she catches a glimpse of his handsome, jade-like face and is instantly smitten.
But Northern Dynasty Prince Li Junyi dislikes her because she looks like the white moonlight who betrayed him and left. She becomes a scapegoat and a slave, treated worse than a maid despite being a princess consort. He even uses a poisonous Gu to force her to submit.
She is no well-mannered princess. From the moment she sets foot in the prince's residence, she finds all sorts of ways to deal with her husband's unreasonable behavior.
When he forces her to sleep in a dark room with snakes, Meng Suisui fakes her death and tricks Li Junyi into going in as her target, then grins to herself. "Husband, have you fallen for me?"
Li Junyi laughs coldly and wraps an arm around her waist. "You think far too highly of yourself. In my eyes, you're nothing but a little white mouse."
He has always treated her like an enemy, but he never expected that after seeing her mischievous side, feeling her burning warmth, and watching her lash out at him with tears streaming down her face, he would be destined to lose to this little white mouse.
Meng Suisui awakens his feelings and illuminates his dark world. But by the time he realizes it, she has already grown distant and indifferent.
Nor could anyone have imagined that Li Junyi, who had always cared only about his kingdom, would one day secretly gather talented advisors at home to come up with plans, all so he could get a little closer to Meng Suisui.
Later, Li Junyi risks death for her, willing to trade his life for hers to keep her safe.
Meng Suisui coldly knocks his medicine away. "I'm now another country's princess consort. I don't need your contemptible kindness, and besides, you have no right to act like you care."
Coming soon:
Su Zique has a secret: she is afraid of getting too close to men. Though she is a gifted doctor, a doctor cannot heal herself.
She is past the age of marriage, yet afraid to wed. To evade the court's forced matchmaking, she disguises herself as a man, only to be exposed on the spot. Trembling, she points to the county magistrate she once saved on the street. "He's my husband."
Yan Wenqing looks at her, bewildered. "I... am supposed to have a wife?"
But at home, the two are married in name only and act like neighbors. They even talk through a speaking tube, and ring a bell when they need something.
Everyone knows that the newly appointed county magistrate married a pretty ornament he cannot even touch. Many women have set their sights on the talented Yan Wenqing, who excels in both civil and military arts, and the prefect values him highly, intending to take him as a son-in-law.
Afraid the magistrate might fall for one of the women throwing herself at him and abandon her, Su Zique secretly makes plans to send them away. Yan Wenqing catches on and smiles as he taps her head lightly with a twig. "Little girl, so you want to keep the title of principal wife all to yourself."
Su Zique is at a loss for words. "Don't talk nonsense. I was afraid it would interfere with your official duties."
Yan Wenqing had already given her his heart when she saved him, but his wife in name only kept pushing him away.
Knowing about her illness and her circumstances, he deliberately appeared on the street that day and made sure she saw him, gambling on fate.
Knowing that she felt at ease only when practicing medicine, he deliberately got injured every time, giving himself an excuse to get close to her.
One day, Su Zique helps Yan Wenqing, pretending to be drunk, back to his room. Looking at her gentle, sleeping husband, her lips fall to his face as if by magic. Blushing, she smacks her lips. "So my husband is sweet."
Yan Wenqing's lips curl into a smile as he pulls her into his arms. He wipes the sugar crumbs from the corner of her mouth. "Little girl, who's sweeter, me or the candied hawthorn?"
Later, word spreads that the county magistrate married a beautiful bride while reporting for duty in the capital. Su Zique, too, is forcefully claimed as a bride by a marquis she has never met. As she tries to flee, eight bearers carrying a bridal sedan block her way, and a group of guards bow and address her as the marquis's wife.
Su Zique: "I would rather die than marry!"
Yan Wenqing approaches with a smile. "My lady, it's too late to call off the wedding now."
Theme: The nation lives in our hearts, and every citizen has a duty to it
A typical female abuse article, the woman, the author and the reader are moved by themselves
List notification, the author is on the list~
The author is so perseverant, he must have written at least a million pieces in a year.
Isn't the male protagonist who received the copy in advance called Yan Wenqing? Why did one paragraph change to Yu Wenqing?
It's really beautiful and healing! The author's writing style is OK
This setting shocked me so much, and the writing is passable. The plot is a bonus. I'll add it to my favorites and follow it up. Hey, good reviews!
I like it personally, but it's too short
One of the few e-sports articles that can read the content of the game
The creativity is ok, the writing is ok, there are some areas where it's a little bit over-the-top, but overall it's acceptable.
Is this the second male lead? Yazi looks good.
