Only after Sheng Yao died did she learn that her whole family were disposable villains in a male-oriented harem novel.
She had rejected the male lead, Long Aotian, when he sexually harassed her. He held a grudge and retaliated against her family, driving their company into bankruptcy, forcing her father to jump from a building, and leaving her mother to die of grief.
When she was reborn, a voice appeared in Sheng Yao's mind.
[Congratulations, Host. You have been bound to the Worldline Correction System.]
[Mission: Follow Long Aotian's path and become the richest person in the world before he does.]
[Congratulations, Host. Your golden finger is a Luck Buff.]
From then on, Sheng Yao, with her cheat ability, and Long Aotian, with his own, raced against the clock to become the richest person in the world first.
In the 1990s, the stock market was just taking off. Sheng Yao knew nothing about stocks, but she resolutely threw herself into the market. Long Aotian watched with scorn, waiting to laugh at her.
But with the Luck Buff, even the stocks nobody believed in soared the moment Sheng Yao bought them.
No analysis, no reason!
After she became a legendary "stock god," The Wall Street Journal marveled: She was the only person in the entire world who understood stocks!
But this one path alone wasn't nearly enough. In the 1990s, e-commerce and the internet were booming. There were countless roads to success and riches everywhere.
To make absolutely sure Long Aotian had no chance to recover, Sheng Yao decided... every road would lead to her!
She developed an e-commerce platform and established an internet social network. Before she knew it, she had become the richest person in the world. A single word from her could shake the economic lifelines of the entire West.
Along the way, Sheng Yao also rescued, almost as an afterthought, each of the girls Long Aotian had harmed in the original story.
Years later, Sheng Yao stood at the pinnacle of the world. Looking back, she happened to spot Long Aotian working in the kitchen of a small restaurant.
In this life, under her watchful eye, Long Aotian finally paid for all his despicable deeds. Abandoned by everyone, alone, scorned, penniless, he struggled through each day in misery.
When he saw her, Long Aotian glared with venom. "Everything you have should have been mine."
Sheng Yao merely smiled. "Those who bully others will always be bullied in turn."
"Retribution always comes. It's only a matter of time."
Theme: Those who do evil will bring about their own downfall.
