Too Depressed to Be Everyone's Favorite, She Chooses to Lie Flat

After binding herself to the System, Yu Qing learned that the world she lived in was a dark, twisted novel, and that she was its beloved heroine.

According to the plot, she would deliberately seduce countless love interests, become entangled with them, and eventually leap from a high-rise after failing the college entrance exam.

Yu Qing didn't want romance or the spotlight. She only wanted to take things as they came for three years, then meet the death that awaited her.

So she decided to lie flat.

But the world didn't seem willing to leave her alone.

No matter how carefully she tried to avoid it, the plot still unfolded in another form. In the end, those people who had once stood high above everyone else fell from their pedestals one by one.

The 100-point affection ratings above their heads glowed red as a beating heart.

Love turned them from heaven's favored children into drowning souls just like her.

But Yu Qing couldn't understand.

What about her was worth loving?

She was the useless mud her mother said could never amount to anything, a shadow wandering in the dark beneath her sister's radiance.

Beneath her quiet exterior lay neither gentleness nor consideration,

just an inflated, fragile pride.

"Please note"

A short-to-medium-length story, intended as a stress-reliever. Updates are irregular. The overall tone is like that of the final paragraphs of the blurb, so read with care.

A melodramatic school story. The heroine has a whole slew of one-sided admirers.

Theme: People are trapped in cages, yet long for freedom.
