The dating show Heartbeat Connection went viral online, and the relationship most discussed was that between award-winning actress Zhu Huaixing and top-tier star You Yun.

They had been schoolmates for years and worked at the same company, but had no interaction at all throughout the first episode. Even when they were forced to choose each other, the awkwardness was palpable, making people wonder if they really disliked each other, as the rumors claimed.

Rumors spread online, and a video suddenly shot to the top of the trending searches.

At a graduation party, young people toasted one another. In a corner the camera happened to catch, a young You Yun, cheeks flushed, leaned against Zhu Huaixing. The woman holding her lowered her head slightly, looking as if she were kissing her.

Weibo crashed.

After seeing the trending topic, You Yun dug up the number she hadn't contacted in years and called to discuss emergency PR.

To avoid awkwardness, she spoke first as soon as the call connected: "I know it was just the camera angle."

"It wasn't."

The voice at the other end was as cool as ever, but her words struck like thunder.

"I wanted to kiss you then."

In a daze, she seemed to return to that rainy night, when Zhu Huaixing brushed her hand away and said, "We can't be friends."

Wait, so that's what you meant back then?!

Zhu Huaixing had secretly loved her for years under the guise of friendship, and had long since begun to consider giving up.

But whenever You Yun reached out to her, her heart still caught fire for her, leaving her utterly besotted.

Best friends for years turn into lovers. 1v1, happy ending.
