Lovers in the Mortal World

[The blurb may change, but the Western setting will not. The male lead is a foreigner, or the story takes place in a fictional Western manor.]

On a snowy night in London, while studying abroad, Bo Shu rescued a down-and-out gentleman with brown hair and blue eyes. He used every last ounce of his strength to clutch her trouser leg and beg for her help, promising to accept any conditions she set.

His face was smeared with blood, but his beautiful eyes alone shone clear as gemstones. Bo Shu looked down at him for a long moment, then narrowed her eyes.

"All right. Be my lover."

Very few people in the Howard family knew that their young, distinguished head, Elvis, had once been briefly kept in the home of a Chinese girl, who ordered him around like a servant.

But one night, as rain poured down, an unexpected visitor arrived at the aristocratic manor.

The woman's clothes were drenched, her black hair clung to her pretty temples, and her slender body shivered.

The once-aloof swan had fallen from grace overnight. She raised her pale neck and begged, "I can be your servant, too."

The handsome, noble man looked at her through the heavy curtain of rain, his beautiful blue eyes lowered, his gaze tinged with pity.

He smiled faintly, but said, "No. I want you to be my lover."

Only later did Bo Shu learn that what Mr. Howard meant by "lover" was not what she had thought.

He confined her, disciplined her, and broke her pride.

But then he pieced her back together, embraced her, and taught her what love was.
