The Reborn Scorned Substitute

When Chen Yu leaped from the city wall, he never imagined he would see Meng Huailan again. But the former Grand Secretary had become the lofty Heavenly Emperor of the Ninth Heaven, with profound cultivation and eyes that looked down on all things.

Chen Yu still cherished the kindness Meng Huailan had shown him in the mortal world, so he spent his days hovering around the Emperor. He cooked for him, which was one thing, but he even put on makeup like a woman, drawing his brows and painting his lips.

The people of the heavenly realm had never seen a male immortal so shamelessly bent on climbing into the Emperor's bed. They all looked down on Chen Yu and found him utterly distasteful.

Chen Yu loved his own face dearly, because years ago Meng Huailan had once written a poem praising his beauty. Chen Yu knew he was exceptionally handsome and never hesitated to make use of his beautiful appearance. The Emperor loved his face, too. Whenever they were overcome with passion, he couldn't resist stroking the vivid, blood-red cinnabar mark between Chen Yu's brows.

Until one day, Chen Yu saw a painting. The person depicted was breathtakingly beautiful. That face was unmistakably his, except that the space between the brows was blank. It seemed the painting wasn't finished, so Chen Yu hurriedly added the cinnabar mark.

But he never expected the Emperor to fly into a thunderous rage.

Only after being sentenced to three hundred strokes of the discipline whip and having two of his immortal bones broken did he learn the truth: he was nothing but a substitute.

Right in front of the Emperor, Chen Yu slashed his own face open and asked with a smile, "Does it still look like him now?"

Blood dripped onto the white jade steps. He felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction.

At the moment he leaped from the Immortal-Fallen Platform, Chen Yu was finally able to let go. Next time, he wanted to live for himself.

After a thousand lonely years, the noble prince of the Holy Spirit Clan finally awakened.

So this was Wen Chenyu's true appearance: dazzling as a treasure, with all the immortals coming to pay their respects...
