Cherishing the Years

[Simplified Chinese edition now available, sold on Taobao and Pinduoduo]

Blurb:

Song Xian is a concubine-born daughter of a marquis's household who takes her late elder sister's place in an arranged marriage. Her husband is Wei Ling, the capital's youngest and most promising gentleman, a match everyone envies.

Three years later, a divorce agreement leaves the whole city in shock.

Only Song Xian knows that she is finally free.

She no longer has to flatter and please him. The cold quilts, lonely pillows, and an unfeeling husband are no longer her concern.

--

After leaving her old life behind, Song Xian suddenly has something to look forward to. Her exquisite embroidery makes her famous far and wide.

More and more noblewomen visit her embroidery shop, and the name “Wei Ling” comes up again and again. Only then does Song Xian learn that her former husband has risen to the highest ranks of government and now holds the realm in his grasp. He has become the man of every young woman's dreams in the capital.

A regular customer teases her: “Lady Song, if it were you, would you want to marry the Grand Chancellor?”

Song Xian remains unmoved. “How could I ever be worthy of him? The Grand Chancellor should marry a princess.”

“My lady, you're as lovely as an immortal. Don't sell yourself short. The young master of the Yongyi Marquis's household asked me about your marriage prospects just the other day.”

Song Xian smiles without replying.

Outside the wall, a man stands with his gaze growing dark and fury spreading through him. The ring in his hand crumbles to pieces.

Not worthy of him?

The young master of the Yongyi Marquis's household?

Song Xian, don't even think about it!

The only mistake he ever made in his life was signing that divorce agreement and letting her go.
