Si Qingyu was the model Beta, a Beta among Betas, as people liked to joke. On call twenty-four hours a day, all year round, he was a 007-level human work machine. Responsible, conscientious, patient, and hard-working, he faithfully held down his post, a selfless worker bee supporting the smooth operation of society.
That was until the day he met Liang Gu.
Liang Gu was an Alpha among Alphas, perched at the very top of the gender hierarchy. He was reckless and free-spirited, the complete opposite of the meticulous, by-the-book Si Qingyu.
And yet, as Liang Gu's personal assistant, Si Qingyu had to see him every day, bow to him, and hold his nose while taking care of the bastard, who couldn't manage his own life without an assistant.
That included, but wasn't limited to... all the "advanced gender physiology" that Betas couldn't relate to, but had to understand.
For example, what to do when a top-tier Omega entered an excited and sensitive period;
and, for another example, the dejected refractory period when an Alpha couldn't mark an Omega.
Liang Gu: I'm hungry. Hurry up and think of something.
Liang Gu: I'm too full. Hurry up and think of something.
Liang Gu: I'm feeling sensitive. Hurry up and think of something.
Why couldn't a troublesome gender as aggressive and destructive as an Alpha just stay away from Omegas altogether?
Si Qingyu:
Emotionally: I don't want to work overtime.
Rationally: I can't clock out.
He felt deeply burdened, emotionally resistant, and, for the sake of appearances... so mortified he wanted to dig a hole and hide in it.
But unfortunately, every suitable candidate was unavailable.
With no other choice, Si Qingyu patiently bent down to the tall Alpha:
Please understand. During this sensitive period, I'm your only option.
Oh, that damn sense of responsibility.
Liang Gu: What a coincidence :)

Theme: You should see things through to the end and have the courage to take responsibility.
