What if Godric were still alive, but had lost his memory?
Inspired by Rowling's joke: if Godric Gryffindor were still alive, he would be the giant squid in the lake, making him the biggest Animagus in the wizarding world, and possibly the oldest. Every night at eleven, the squid would turn back into Gryffindor's original form and stroll around the school grounds before turning back into a giant squid at sunrise.
