The Canary Isn't So Obedient

A shrewd, calculating father, a mother who died young, a domineering CEO of a brother, and him, with nothing at all.

The host read Wu Yan's description of himself, then looked at the "domineering older brother" with a conflicted expression.

Wu Gou chuckled. "Wu Yan, you little brat. Looks like your ass is itching again."

The Wu family adopted Wu Yan simply to add another place at the table.

If he became an alpha, he could work himself to the bone for the Wu family.

If he became an omega, he could be married off to strengthen the family's ties.

And if all else failed and he became a beta, he could work for the Wu family for the rest of his life, just like Manager Wu.

Wu Yan knew perfectly well he was nothing but a tool.

With those three paths laid out before him,

he chose the hardest one: he fell in love with the Wu family's eldest son, Wu Gou.

Following Wu Gou's hints,

he kept the suppressor patch on the back of his neck firmly in place,

disguised himself as a beta, and plunged headfirst into the bizarre, dazzling world of show business.

But in the end, he could only watch Wu Gou win the beauty's heart,

while Wu Gou "sold" him to the Du family.

Looking at Wu Gou's cold expression, Wu Yan finally understood: Wu Gou had always hated him and never wanted to see him at all.

If that was the case, Wu Yan swore he would reach the very top.

He would make sure Wu Gou could always see him, and annoy him to death while he was at it.
