[Harry Potter] The Bluebird

To Tian, seated at the round garden table enjoying afternoon tea:

Good afternoon, darling.

I'm so glad you came to ask me about your mother's story. Your mother, my darling little bluebird, Seville, was an excellent Ravenclaw. (I'm sure your father has already bragged to you about being a Slytherin.) My sweet Seville loved reading from the time she was little, so when she was sorted into Ravenclaw at the age of eleven, I was proud of her from the bottom of my heart.

My dear Tian, your parents were born and went to school in a dangerous, crazy era. I'm sure you've read about it in the study, haven't you?

My precious baby, don't worry about which house that silly hat will sort you into. Your parents are strong enough to protect you from every storm. Wherever you go, you'll be a gift from Merlin to them.

As for your father, if you want to go to Gryffindor, I'm sure Seville can keep him in line. Don't be afraid.

Your brother has already been sorted into Slytherin. That's more than enough to make him happy.

Love,

Your grandmother
