I Won’t Be the Founding Empress

At the end of the dynasty, Cheng Jian, who had transmigrated sixteen years earlier, finally discovered that she was the founding empress of the historic Xu Dynasty. Three years later, chaos would engulf the land and powerful warlords would rise. Her adoptive father, who commanded an army of his own, would marry her off to the son of a declining noble family. They would share hardships and weather every storm together, and ten years later they would both ascend to become the most powerful couple in the realm. In the history books, the Xu emperor respected and cherished her, and the two were held up as a model imperial couple. But Cheng Jian didn't want that kind of life. If she could, she wanted to live another way. Even if it meant dancing on the edge of a blade, she would gladly take that path. So ten years later, she entered Chang'an once more, not as the founding empress, but as a female chancellor. And on the day she arrived in the city, she forcibly took a former dynasty prince into her household. PS: Content warnings: 1. The female lead is unhinged and not a virgin.
