The Akashic Records, the Root of All Things, manifested as the Book of Life and independently formed an extraordinary library somewhere in the universe.
·
Kashima Tamaki, the Second King, the Golden King, librarian of the Akashic Library, and an outsider born connected to the Root of All Things.
Her main job is to retrieve Heroic Spirits who have descended by mistake or been summoned illegally. She also works part-time as an Inspector, helping the World’s Will return or eliminate illegal transmigrators and destroy illegal Systems.
As the Akashic Records themselves, both the library and its director, they have read so many novels and watched so many films and TV shows written by humans that they are dedicated to creating secret identities for Tamaki, using her as the model and tailoring each one to the worldview of her mission location, so she can wear them while doing her job.
Each secret identity’s backstory is designed to match her first clan member and work partner, as well as the only Servant the library has asked her to supervise. The Akashic Records have written the script themselves, so all she has to do is follow it
Director, what are you thinking?! Her partner is Lafa, the one saddled with high-ranking Innocent Monster and Mad Enhancement curses! Even if that child wants to be a good person, the locals won’t believe them!

Reader Notes:
1. There is no plot about retrieving the Holy Grail. With the Root of All Things backing her, why would she need that broken cup?
2. Only the established pairing, no ambiguous relationships. Please be mindful of your words and don’t start fights. Thank you so much.
3. The pairing is Lafa and Dazai. This is the author's own parallel-universe version of Dazai, whose personality differs from other versions. Friends have said they think Lafa's experiences are even more tragic than Boss Dazai's.
