I Don't Approve of This Marriage

Haven't thought of a title yet~

A's parents have never been reliable. They got married recklessly, then divorced just as recklessly, and left together on their honeymoon, dumping A with the family they'd once arranged a childhood betrothal with.

With a head of red hair and ripped jeans, A knocks on the door.

He thought his betrothed would be a shy girl with tender eyes. Who knew the door would be answered by a six-foot-two man?

The man opens his mouth, and out comes a thick Northeastern accent: "Hey, kid. Who are you looking for?"

A tries to stay calm. "I'm looking for XX."

The man: "Oh, that's me."

A grips his backpack in despair, ready to run.

The night before, B had been drinking until midnight with a heartbroken friend. Early the next morning, the doorbell woke him up, and he was so annoyed that his Northeastern accent came out the moment he spoke.

B knew his mother had arranged a childhood betrothal for him. He'd thought she was joking, but now his betrothed had actually shown up.

B stares silently at the red-haired boy across from him, who looks like he's just been in a fight, his eyes full of defiance.

Then he looks at the failing test in his hand and feels completely overwhelmed.

A and B: I don't agree to this marriage!

A: I like cute, petite girls!

B: I like sweet, well-behaved boys!

Later...

Well, this is actually pretty great.

A, resting his chin in his hand: A tall, sturdy partner is the way to go. They make you feel safe.

B, smiling: A partner should be a bit of a challenge. It's more fun that way.

Theme: Love takes mutual compromise and understanding.
