[Western Crossover] I Made Gotham's Water and Soil Unfavorable

Desmond Baldwin, from Nightvale, a remote desert town, worked hard to earn admission to the prestigious Gotham University. With the gentle encouragement of his older brother, Cisor, the timid young man from a small town set off alone to pursue his studies. On his first day in Gotham, the bustling city left him utterly stunned: The dog park here actually had both dogs and people! The rain here was actually clear! The residents here were all normal humans! Ashamed of his ignorance, Desmond could only secretly hide away the local specialties he'd brought from home: an automatic writing pen that wrote plans to end the world, perfume that boosted your charm while spreading plague, and a full-length mirror that was lonely and loved to find people to play games with in the middle of the night, among other things. Desmond: Sob, it's so hard being a country bumpkin in the city. QAQ When his friends heard that their companions were being discriminated against (?) at university, they were upset and all volunteered to come to their aid. And so Gotham's people discovered that life had become even more miserable. Mysterious black holes appeared on walls, lanky shadows roamed the alleys, and a chilling breath came from behind... Desmond: I'm so touched.jpg Gotham's people: We don't dare move.jpg Gargoyle trampler: My Gotham...? *The flashback section, "Stories from the Past," is quite long. No superheroes or supervillains appear in it, so feel free to skip it if that's not your thing. Thanks. *As usual (?), there are original additions, hehe. *Includes Lovecraftian elements. Specifically, the protagonist is a follower of Yog-Sothoth, one of the forms of the Bubbles. *The protagonist's idea of what's normal is very different from everyone else's. *In a way, it's a monster-filled group pampering story. *Mainly set in the DC universe, including some of the sweeter comic, animation, and Lego versions, without the heavy angst. It also crosses over with other works. Some obscure, unfamiliar characters may appear, but they won't affect the reading experience, so you can think of them as original characters. New story ↓ The Nightmares in His Collection Escaped Shu Xingzhou has a secret, one he thought would never be discovered. But the day after he made that declaration... Walking down a dark road at night, he saw a tall, lanky man wearing a blood-covered insect mask, with sharp, many-jointed legs tearing through his clothes. Thinking it was a costume, passersby snapped away with their cameras. Then someone touched the man's face. His mouthparts snapped shut, and the person's fingers were severed in an instant, blood spraying everywhere. The onlookers screamed and fled. Shu Xingzhou stared in bewilderment: ...Nobody told me my "secret" could grow legs and run away on its own! * Shu Xingzhou had always thought his supernatural ability was pretty useless. He could travel through dreams and do whatever he wanted. He had even built a "nightmare warehouse" to collect wicked, terrifying nightmares. But none of that changed the fact that he was a total weakling. When nightmares entered the real world, he was just as helpless, panicking and trying to run away. But the insect man spotted him first, and then... ran even faster than Shu Xingzhou, as if he were the monster. Shu Xingzhou stood rooted to the spot: ...??? * A legend in the dream world tells of a monstrous demon king who rules over a terrifying prison. There, countless nightmares are cooped up in tiny boxes, unable to scare anyone, eat meat, or even get some fresh air. The nightmares feared the prison warden's reputation, yet they fought tooth and nail for the chance to serve him. One day, their dream came true. The imposing prison warden appeared before them, calling on them to fight for him and hunt down the wicked escapees. The nightmares looked at one another, then excitedly bit through each other's throats: Yay! A spring outing! * Ever since the spiritual qi revival, the Bureau of Anomalous Affairs had never been this busy. A giant insect man was crunching away at human bones here; a shrill-voiced balloon was giggling as it lured children over there; and the moon itself had turned red, a hideous face opening its jaws full of sharp teeth. With strange events cropping up everywhere, word of a monster prison grew louder and eventually reached their ears. For a time, ability users, officials, and wanted criminals all grew restless, trying to find out where the prison had come from. Shu Xingzhou, an employee of the Bureau's archives, sorted through the files while worrying that his nightmares were too excited. How could he be a prison warden who knew when to rein them in and when to let them loose? And then there was that little nightmare fluffball who had stolen a kiss from him... Hm, don't think acting cute will let you get away with crossing the line! *A collecting-obsessed bottom who thinks he's ordinary x a fluffy, hypocritical, evolving nightmare top Theme: While making friends, learn to be independent at heart
