Does the Top Student Have a Crush on Me?

Early school arc: sunny, handsome, athletic delinquent with terrible grades x taciturn, old-fashioned weakling with top grades

Later: gaming streamer bottom x corporate executive top

Su Xu is good at every sport, but can't study.

Han Nai is good at studying, but can't play any sports.

When Han Nai first transfers to No. 7 Middle School, he accidentally offends Su Xu, the school's top guy.

Su Xu asks, "Do you know who calls the shots at No. 7 Middle School?"

Without even blinking, Han Nai answers matter-of-factly, "The principal."

Su Xu: "..."

Years later, when the two are living under the same roof, Han Nai pins Su Xu against the wall. Su Xu asks the same question again: "Do you know who calls the shots in this house?"

This time, Han Nai answers without a second thought. "You. You. It'll always be you."

Adult version:

One day, a big spender shows up in Su Xu's livestream and sends gifts as if money were no object.

Su Xu: Thanks, boss. You're so generous.

: Boss, stop sending gifts!

: Boss, if you've got money to burn, go buy a house and let it appreciate in value!

: Boss, stop it! (つД`)ノ

Han Nai: I don't want to buy a house. I want to buy you.

To Han Nai, Su Xu is an oil lamp in the darkness, one that could go out at any moment. He tries desperately to hold on to it.

The first time, he fails.

The second time, he uses a little trick and succeeds.

When the oil lamp is about to run dry, Han Nai shelters it against his chest. Before long, the flame grows brighter and brighter, lighting up Han Nai's entire world.

Su Xu refuses to accept that he's an oil lamp. He asks Han Nai, "Why can't I be an energy-saving lightbulb instead? It's eco-friendly and lasts longer."

Han Nai thinks for a moment and says, "Don't be silly."
