The people at the police station describe Captain Shen: He has a devilishly handsome face, but does the most righteous work.
The people at the police station describe Doctor Yan: She has a cold face, but does the kindest work.
One day, they get so caught up chatting that they forget Captain Shen is in the group too.
"Did you see? The boss's ears were red today!"
"The boss was acting really weird today!"
"I knew it! There's something going on between them!"
"..."
Seeing that they've nearly guessed everything, Shen Beici thinks to himself: Are they all possessed by Yan Tingwan?
Then he suddenly remembers that Yan Tingwan is in the group too.
He can't keep smiling. He hurriedly explains: I like her! No way.
Back at the police station, every colleague he passes gives him a knowing look.
Shen Beici suspiciously takes out his phone and his eyes go wide.
The words "No way" are still waiting in the input box, while the message "I like her!" stands out above a row of @ mentions for Yan Tingwan.
"…"
Captain Shen has been clever all his life, but never expected to trip up over something like this.
