I’m Really Just Writing a Novel

(This story goes VIP at midnight on October 28. Thank you for your support.)

She wrote an adventure fantasy novel about a boy who swallowed the finger of the King of Curses and vowed to become an exorcist. Afterward, all sorts of strange people came knocking, insisting she had the power of prophecy. No matter how she explained that she was just making up a story, they wouldn't believe her.

She wanted to abandon the story, but those people were even more agitated than she was, using threats and bribes to force her to keep writing.

After that, every time Lin Xue updated a chapter, someone would sit beside her computer and watch her write. They also wouldn't let her add too many twists to the story, saying it would affect reality.

To get those strange sorcerers to give up, Lin Xue made all sorts of unreasonable demands. She was just short of extortion.

A certain white-haired sorcerer threatened her: "Write properly. If you do a good job, you can have anything you want from me."

Lin Xue: No, no, no! I'll write properly right away. Please don't do anything rash.

At first, Gojo Satoru thought she was a cold and aloof girl with the power of prophecy. After getting to know her, he discovered that she could not only predict the future, but also exorcise bugs and banish demons.

He had planned to train her into a once-in-a-generation prodigy skilled in jujutsu, pest extermination, and demon slaying. But then Gojo Satoru unexpectedly discovered that the aloof girl who couldn't stand him at first had a burning secret crush on him.

Also known as "At First I Couldn't Stand You, but Eventually I Fell for You" and "Hunting for the Secret of My Dead Father in Japan."

Reader advisory: The pairing is with the strongest teacher. The tone balances seriousness and lightheartedness. The heroine spends the middle part of the story nursing her crush with great care.

Next story: After the Sword Sect Spy's Identity Is Exposed

Chen Zhenzhen was a cautious cultivation disciple of the Sword Sect. One day, her master sent her to infiltrate the Demon Cult as a spy.

Her master's exact words were: "Zhenzhen, you're plain-looking, your strength is neither great nor poor, and you're the sort who says whatever people want to hear. You don't stand out at all, and you have no family or friends. You're the perfect spy."

Chen Zhenzhen entered the Demon Cult in tears. She diligently cultivated and cleaned there, but ten years passed without her uncovering a single useful piece of information.

On the night of Chen Zhenzhen's birthday, while cleaning, she sighed to the Demon Cult's sacred relic, saying that she'd been ordinary from birth and wished she could have a legendary life.

The day before she was supposed to return, the Demon Cult heard there was a spy among them and began searching for the culprit. But then the sacred relic flashed with holy light, shining directly on Chen Zhenzhen.

The Sword Sect also divined a prophecy: the Sword Sect's Grand Ancestor would soon die at the hands of a female disciple born on the fifteenth day of the eighth month.

Chen Zhenzhen: Thanks. Her life really has changed. Now both the Sword Sect and the Demon Cult are hunting her down!
