Updates irregularly. My main focus is another story at the moment.
Everyone says the third branch of the Miao family is a whole household of poor souls. Miao Laosan is honest and kindhearted. Ever since he brought home a little boy with a limp whom he found outside, all the children from the surrounding villages whom their families couldn't afford to raise have been abandoned at the Miao family's doorstep.
The eldest, Miao Dong, has a limp. The second, Miao Nan, was abandoned for being a girl. The third, Miao Xi, was born with a cleft lip. The fourth, Miao Bei, is a pretty child, but timid and too afraid to face people.
As for the fifth, their biological child Miao Miaomiao, she is just as unfortunate. Her mother ran off with another man after stealing the family's money, right after giving birth to her. This family is so unlucky. They live in a dilapidated house, farm third-rate fields, and barely make any money all year. Their lives are miserable.
People say good people never get what they deserve.
Later, the eldest Miao child goes from a scrap-collecting kid to the King of Scrap. The second overcomes her trauma, earns a master's degree, and then a doctorate. The third gets treatment for his cleft lip, becomes a model, and makes it onto the international stage. As for the fourth, Miao Bei, he returns to his hometown with the fifth child and becomes a renowned entrepreneur in rural revitalization.
People say Miao Laosan has been rewarded for his good deeds. No wonder all his children have made something of themselves.
Blurb 2
Miao Xiaomiao has never understood why she was reborn. She was never betrayed, and she had no regrets. Born in the 1990s, she grew up in an era of prosperity, peace, and democracy.
She has a father, two older brothers, and two older sisters. Though her siblings are all adopted and unrelated to her by blood, that doesn't stop them from caring for and cherishing her. Her whole family is exceptional, with extraordinary abilities, so all she has to do is coast along and enjoy the benefits.
Only later does she learn that her father, as well as her siblings who have grown into powerful figures, once had their own difficult times. They, too, had regrets and pain that no outsider knew about. Perhaps the meaning of her being reborn is to change and heal those regrets and hurts that have been buried by the passage of time.
P.S. A slow-paced farming story about everyday family life, told from an ensemble perspective. There are some awful characters, but no constant family feuding.

Please add my upcoming story, Children of the 1990s Educated Youth Returning to Shanghai, to your collection. XOXO :)
In March 1989, the relevant authorities in Shanghai issued a new policy: former educated youth whose registered residence was in Shanghai's urban districts could choose one unmarried, unemployed child aged at least sixteen or graduated from middle school to return to Shanghai, register their residence, study, and work.
The children of educated youth returning to Shanghai are a special group, and one that finds itself in an awkward position.
People in Shanghai consider them outsiders, while people elsewhere consider them Shanghainese.
They have Shanghai household registration, but the beginnings of their ID numbers, which identify them as outsiders, and the lack of memories of growing up in Shanghai have left a deep mark on them.
For their parents, Shanghai is an unforgettable hometown and the place they come from. But for these children of educated youth who arrive in Shanghai, it is a strange metropolis.
They stumble their way through life there, trying not to disappoint their parents and striving to serve as a link between their parents and their hometown.
In 2007, Xu Heye has lived and worked in Shanghai for eighteen years. Although she has learned to speak fluent Shanghainese, she still feels out of place in this bustling metropolis.
Just as Xu Heye thinks she will spend her whole life muddling through, accomplishing nothing, she wakes up and finds herself back in March 1989, with the train to Shanghai slowly rolling forward.

Theme: Return to the past and give kind people the chance to realize their dreams.
That third sister should be Zheng Xiaomi's child.
Isn't this Xiaomi going to be a stepmother? Isn't this plot so redundant?
The second sister must have seen her biological parents!
I guess Miao Nan saw his biological parentsπ_π
