[The next story is coming soon: a silly little rom-com featuring Fran.]
My name is Nishihara Morine. I’m an ordinary high school student.
One day, on my way home after finishing my shift at the convenience store, I ran into a strange boy with a blank expression.
He was standing at a traffic light with a piece of toilet paper in his hand. When he saw me, he held out his arm to stop me and asked without changing expression whether I was his unseen future teacher’s wife.
Me: “…”
Me: What the hell?
I glanced at the giant black frog hat on his head, decided he was an incomprehensible weeb, and silently stepped to the side.
But he followed me.
I immediately whipped out the white radish I’d bought on sale at the supermarket and held it up at him, glaring without hesitation.
Me: “What are you doing? Are you a pervert? You picked the wrong person to mess with. This radish in my hand is no pushover!”
“...”
The handsome, blank-faced boy with green hair and green eyes stared at me without a hint of emotion for five seconds.
Just as I started to wonder if I’d run into someone who was deaf and mute, his eyes suddenly lit up. It was as if a light bulb had switched on above the frog hat on his head. He immediately pulled out his phone and called someone.
When the call connected, the boy spoke in a completely flat tone, though he sounded happy:
“Hello, Master? So your fortune-telling wasn’t a lie after all. Me really did meet the girl from your prediction who could become me’s teacher’s wife.”
Me: “...”
Me: “???”
The Mist Guardian of the Vongola, Italy’s largest mafia family, Rokudo Mukuro was once again fed up with his unlucky disciple.
Ever since his little disciple found out that the Vongola’s Sun Guardian at headquarters was dating someone, he’d been pestering his twenty-five-year-old, still-in-his-prime “old master” (with emphasis on “old”) every day to find someone and finally get his love life sorted out. Otherwise, his awful personality might leave him single for the rest of his life.
Of course, even if he found someone, there was a 99% chance he’d still end up single. (Disciple Fran’s words.)
Rokudo Mukuro was sick of hearing it. One day, he finally snapped and made up a story on the spot, putting his Mist attribute to good use to get rid of the kid.
“Go out, turn left, use your phone to buy a ticket back to Namimori, and after you get off the train, walk straight down the main road for 3,000 meters. Then turn right and go 500 meters. The first girl you meet at the traffic lights will be your future teacher’s wife.”
“Hm? Of course it’s true. I studied fortune-telling, so I wouldn’t lie to you. All right, kufufufufu... You can go now.”
And then, two days later...
Rokudo Mukuro got a call from his traitorous disciple.
Traitorous disciple: “Master, I met your future wife, but she looks about my age. Do you think you can really bring yourself to go after someone that young?”
Rokudo Mukuro: ?
Damn it, why were there actually traffic lights where he’d made up that nonsense?
Traitorous disciple: “Master, maybe you should forget it. It’d be too embarrassing if people found out. I don’t want a master like you.”
Rokudo Mukuro: “…”
Rokudo Mukuro, with a vein throbbing at his temple: “Do whatever you want.”
Another month passed.
The traitorous disciple called again.
Traitorous disciple: “Master, I’m dating someone. She’s your future wife, ”
(He gets beaten up.)
An unfamiliar girl took the phone, sounding calm and composed. “Sorry, my boyfriend’s got a screw loose. We’re definitely not playing some weird game or anything, so please don’t get the wrong idea!”
Rokudo Mukuro: “…”
Rokudo Mukuro: ?
You young lovebirds sure have some interesting tastes.
(He crushes the phone.)
*Pairing: Fran. “Open up, future wife, I’m the budget version of your master” (just kidding).
*A low-calorie, silly little rom-com. Let’s see how long it gets.
