Haitang transmigrates as an elder in a cultivation sect. Her spiritual power is immense, and with a turn of her hand she can summon clouds and rain. It couldn't be more satisfying!

A hundred years later, Haitang happens to take in a young man who's been wandering outside as her disciple.

When she asks his name, he says he doesn't have one.

Haitang is at a loss. After racking her brains for a while, she reluctantly gives him a name: "The sea embraces a hundred rivers, and its capacity is great. You'll be called Haichuan. It also happens to mean we share a surname."

Haitang takes her young disciple traveling across the land, vanquishing demons, defending the righteous, and saving the people. She also warns him, "Little Chuan, the world is full of dangers. Once we're outside Lingxiao Realm, you have to stay close to me. With a pretty face like yours, you might get snatched up by some big bad wolf."

The boy says nothing, but he doesn't disagree either.

One day, Haitang is careless and falls into a perilous trap set by demons. Her disciple rushes in against the light and swiftly rescues her. As Haitang stares in shock, he sheaths his sword and looks back at her. "Master, the world is full of dangers. Once we're outside Lingxiao Realm, you can't keep acting recklessly. You have to stay close to me."

Haitang: "...??..."

Isn't that my line?

From then on, Haitang notices that her disciple has changed. He's no longer the frail boy he used to be. With a single stroke of his sword, he can overturn rivers and seas, and he's become someone who can hold up the whole sky for her.

From there, master and disciple continue down the path of arguing over which one of them is protecting the other.

"The road is long and dark. Stay close to me, and don't get lost."

The sun sets, and the Haitang flowers bloom.

1. Both leads are strong. The heroine is strong, and the hero is too, but he won't surpass her.

2. The male lead is weak at first, but he'll grow stronger later and reach the heroine's level.

3. The male lead first appears at fourteen. There is no romance between them until he is an adult.

4. The story is told about equally from both leads' perspectives.

5. This is my take on cultivation, with heaps of original worldbuilding. Read with caution if that's not your thing.
