The Regent Prince's Laid-Back Princess

The late emperor died suddenly, leaving behind Princess Su Qixue, who was in the bloom of youth, and a crown prince of only six.

They said Regent King Li Ci was cruel, sinister, and unpredictable.

The head palace attendant warned Su Qixue to watch her words and actions. Otherwise, he would lock the princess away deep in the palace and take away her power to participate in government.

Su Qixue, who wanted nothing more than to laze around, was sick of attending banquets every day, and was dreading the endless stack of memorials she had to review, lit up. Uncle really is wonderful.

The court officials paid their respects in the great hall. The regent watched coldly as Su Qixue curtsied to him. The back of her neck was pale and delicate, as fragile as if it might break.

After standing for a little while, she rubbed her legs and quietly leaned against a pillar.

The regent saw it and mocked her. "Didn't the late emperor teach the princess proper etiquette?"

He did.

Su Qixue glanced at the imposing, elaborately decorated dragon throne behind him and hesitated. It wouldn't be right to sit on that, would it...

The princess hadn't shown herself for several days.

Everyone lamented that, fallen into the hands of a vicious beast, she had probably been tortured until she was unrecognizable, or even killed.

But in the lakeside pavilion, the regent held a pink embroidered handkerchief and patiently wiped pear juice from the fingertips of the princess, who was supposedly dead. Soft silk ribbon bound her slender wrist.

Regent: One pear, three memorials. Run off again and I'll try something else.

Lazy princess: Sniff.

Theme: When your heart turns toward the sun, the sky is always clear.
