He is imposing and lofty, but gentle at heart, and occasionally calculating. Later, Jiang Mei helps him heal, and he gradually faces his true feelings, becoming open and sincere. His affection evolves from doting on the heroine as if she were a plaything, to valuing and protecting her, to realizing what love means, and finally to having what it takes to love, protect, and stay by her side.

Their love unfolds naturally, and their souls grow close. The early romance is subtle, tender, and full of lingering feeling; later it becomes intense and passionate. The writing is authentic and delicate, with elegant classical style.
