I Mistook the Unhinged Patriarch for a Lovesick Fool

Fine Arts Academy heartthrob Xie Xuanqing has "won" a transmigrate-into-a-book gift pack.

He transmigrates into his bedtime read, The Sword Immortal Cultivates the Ruthless Dao, and becomes the timid young leader of the fallen Confucian sect Zhengqi. He's a nameless passerby with terrible talent who only rose to his position because there were so few fellow disciples left.

Xie Xuanqing thinks: The beautiful founding ancestor Yan Huaishu, who's just returned from his travels, is the lovesick, love-brained villainous big shot whose sect was wiped out in a fit of rage by the Sword Immortal Qingming.

In reality: Yan Huaishu looks calm, refined, elegant, and unworldly, but inside, he's an obsessive madman with absolutely no worldly desires!

After pulling off a string of wild stunts, Xie Xuanqing tries to keep Yan Huaishu from becoming a lovesick fool or turning evil, and works hard to save the Confucian sect's biggest love-brain.

The mad founding ancestor Yan Huaishu discovers that he has developed worldly desires for Xie Xuanqing.

The Sword Immortal Qingming thinks: Xie Xuanqing must be madly in love with me, which is why he keeps stopping Yan Huaishu from causing me trouble.

At the grand gathering of the Four Seas...

The aloof and extraordinary Sword Immortal Qingming makes a public confession: "Xuanqing, I wish to join our fates and cultivate together. What say you?"

Help!

He's just an utterly ordinary passerby. He doesn't want to be the wife who gets killed so someone can prove their Dao!

Xie Xuanqing clutches the founding ancestor Yan Huaishu's sleeve and begs for help: "Ancestor, 999!"

Yan Huaishu wraps an arm around Xie Xuanqing and pulls him into his embrace. With a stroke of his brush, he paints mountains and rivers, his words shaking the land: "Xuanqing is my Dao partner."

Xie Xuanqing: ???

Xie Xuanqing: Ancestor, I understand every word you said, but put them together and I have no idea what you mean!
