One night, Zihua followed a scent and braved the pouring rain to bring home a basket of kittens.

Tangyuan's eyes widened in jealousy, and one golden tear after another spilled from his eyes. The three tiny kittens in the basket made the black cat ears on his head tremble with anger.

Seeing the little crybaby snatch up the kittens and try to throw them outside, Zihua hurried to stop him and pull him into his arms.

Protecting the kittens in the basket, he said, "Look at you, playing around in the middle of the night. You saw it was raining and ran home... You left the babies on the road!"

The black cat clan was famous for being prolific.

But no one had ever heard of a pregnant cat dad being so absent-minded that he didn't even realize he'd given birth to kittens on the way home.

At that, Tangyuan immediately turned into a black cat, went over, and picked up one of the kittens by the scruff, turning it over. As if it recognized its dad's scent, the kitten's eyelids twitched and it gave a tiny meow.

Tangyuan's black fur stood on end in fright... Th-this really was his kitten! He'd seen the kitten's eyes. They were the same color as his brother's.

Tangyuan hurriedly rubbed his cat ears against his brother and whimpered several times, trying to wheedle his way into his good graces.

Too bad the beauty was furious. Thinking of the babies shivering in the pouring rain just now, Zihua coldly announced, "Starting tomorrow, you'll get half as many fried dough sticks..."

"Meow!?"

"Meooow!!!"

Tangyuan's vision went black. He felt that life as a cat was hopeless.
