Fake Acting, Real Feelings [GL]

- A complete story in one chapter, a sweet little bedtime read -

The year Bai Qing turned 26, her beautiful long hair landed her a shampoo commercial, and she became famous across the country.

After somehow stumbling into the entertainment industry, she occasionally took endorsement deals and played roles like someone's unrequited first love.

She spent ten years quietly getting by, neither a great success nor a failure, and now she was 36.

She was planning to retire, leave show business, become a designer, and travel the world.

But one phone call disrupted her peaceful retirement plans:

"Ms. Bai, sorry to bother you when you're so busy! I'm Director Jin. Crescent TV is planning a historical drama to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The audience voted you as their choice for the female lead. We're still discussing who to cast as the male lead, and we're not sure about your schedule..."

After learning the details, Bai Qing found out that filming would take about six months in another city. She had already turned down every job this year because of her retirement plans... Whether it was fate or something else, the filming dates happened to fit perfectly. The city where they would shoot was the very place she planned to settle after retiring, and she already had a finished apartment there.

In the end, Bai Qing agreed.

She could film the drama while getting her apartment renovated, then move right in as soon as filming wrapped. Perfect!

Ye Xu came from a wealthy family. At 16, she entered the entertainment industry with her family's financial backing and starred alongside an award-winning actor in a movie, winning Best Actress in one fell swoop.

That same year, she was invited to star in a prime-time TV series. Thanks to her talent and acting skills, she won the Best Actress award again.

Over the next ten years, she made a name for herself in the entertainment industry.

Oddly enough, even though she starred in TV dramas and movies with male leads, the people she was rumored to be dating were always women.

At 26, she accepted Director Jin's invitation to cross-dress as the male lead in a historical drama. She never expected the on-screen romance to become real, but she gradually fell in love with the heroine, Bai Qing.

And from then on, there was no turning back...
