Sleeping Through Spring

[Cold, selfish crown prince x sincere girl-next-door]

When Ji Ruojin was six, she climbed the wall to watch the boy next door practice martial arts, then accidentally toppled off the top.

He mockingly told her, "Short legs and short arms. Took a tumble, didn't you?"

Ji Ruojin immediately used her secret weapon: she burst into tears, drawing the adults over. Watching the boy get a thorough scolding made her instantly happy.

Later, she found out that his body and back were covered in scars. Overcome with guilt, she secretly picked some fresh fruit and brought it to him. "Big brother, have some."

Xiao Lin thought his only purpose in life was to reclaim the position that had been stolen from him. But somehow, he seemed to have given his heart to that innocent little girl.

The day he left, she watched him with tears in her eyes. "Big brother, will you come back?"

Xiao Lin placed the jade pendant he always wore in her hands and solemnly promised, "Jin'er, once I've made a name for myself, I'll come back to marry you with a grand procession."

Later, Xiao Lin became famous far and wide, and he held a lavish wedding with an extravagant bridal procession.

At the banquet, Xiao Lin was raising his cup in celebration when a young woman walked in through the door. She was as radiant as ever, but her gaze was ice-cold. "Xiao Lin, is this what you meant by an extravagant bridal procession?"

The winecup slipped from Xiao Lin's hand. "Jin'er..."
