Can Betas Have Love Triangles Too?

In the third year of Chen Ying and Xu Xiwu's relationship, they got divorced. Because Chen Ying was busy: busy working, busy traveling for business, busy being clueless about romance. More importantly, Chen Ying was a beta. Betas couldn't smell pheromones or soothe an omega's heat. All a beta could do was hold the suppressants, leaving nothing but a helpless sigh beside the pillow. So Chen Ying pinched his nose and signed the divorce papers. * Xu Xiwu had recently met an alpha. The other man was mature and dependable, and the two of them got along wonderfully, but neither had ever wanted to take things further. He couldn't let go of Chen Ying. * Zhang Mingxu was used to hearing Xu Xiwu complain. He said his ex-husband was wooden and old-fashioned, with nothing in his eyes but work and making money. Year in and year out, he couldn't figure out what there was to like about him. Zhang Mingxu found it amusing. He waved a hand and said, "If he's so annoying, why can't you stop thinking about him?" Xu Xiwu fell silent for a moment. His voice was as soft as snowflakes falling on a frozen lake. "I got divorced. That doesn't mean I stopped loving him." Ridiculous. Zhang Mingxu stubbed out his cigarette, his eyes settling on the work message he'd just received on WeChat. It was from a recent business partner: diligent, efficient, never half-hearted, like a stream surging upstream. The other man was a beta. He didn't think more of Zhang Mingxu just because he was an alpha, nor did he look down on himself for being a beta. * During graduation season, when jobs were in high demand, a lot of young faces showed up at the company. On the day Qi Zaiyang first reported for work, he saw a man in a shirt and slacks, wearing an employee badge, standing before him with the easy bearing of a tall pine. "Hello, I'm Chen Ying. We met during your final interview. I'll be your mentor from now on." Chen Ying was a beta. Could a beta end up in a love triangle, too? Theme: With hard work, anything is possible
