This is an NP story, with everyone paired with Kukai. If that's not your thing, move along. The protagonist is fickle, but in reality, he's the most shrewd person in the world. Here are some hilariously awkward conversations from the story: Amu (sweating): “Kukai, why do you look so happy when Miki cries?” Kukai (flashing a row of sparkling teeth): “Because I like smiling as I watch other people feel miserable, hehe. Isn't it fun? Especially when it's this heartless guy.” Kei Izumi: “Boss, you really have gotten used to picking on kids.” Kukai (sternly): “Ikuto Tsukiyomi, you cat! Why don't you go catch some fish instead of following me around and trying to steal Hinamori? Dream on, Amu!” Yuuhi Mai (sweating): “Big brother, don't get mad, okay? Life isn't about getting angry, it's about getting exercise...” Ikuto Tsukiyomi (annoyed): “Little Kukai, I don't think you're in any position to challenge me.” (In class) Yu Nikaido (helplessly): “Soma, we're in class right now. Soma...” Kukai (ignoring him): “(~ o ~)~zZ” Shizuka Hanazuki (expressionless): “Teacher, perhaps he'll wake up if you say class is dismissed.” Tsukasa Amakawa (smiling): “Hehe, Kukai, are you in trouble again?” Kukai (returning the same smile): “Mr. Chairman, since you know me so well, could you let me hide out here for a bit? Don't worry, I won't pay for the space, the hiding place, your silence, tuition, or emotional distress...” QWX (Izumi, Mai, and Shizuka): “Then why bring all that up? Are you just messing with us?” Kukai (flashing his sparkling teeth): “Haha, I knew that one day you'd fall from your place as queen, Yoshihiko, you cross-dressing guy! Haha, what's it like wearing a skirt?” Yoshihiko (fixing him with a bone-chilling glare): “Want to find out for yourself?” And then... “Aaaaaah!!!! Where is justice!!!!! Aaaaaah!!! I have a phobia of skirts, aaaaaah!!!” Kukai (smiling brightly): “Let me introduce everyone: the iron-blooded man, Kaido (being glared at); the bespectacled guy, Shusui (being glared at twice); the braided guy, Unkai (being glared at three times); and the scheming guy, Rento (smiling right back).” Rento (smiling): “Kukai, it seems you've bought the wrong things all over again.” His brothers were speechless. Kaido (fired up): “You've bought the wrong things several times now. The Soma family has no use for dead weight! Let's go settle this one-on-one!” Soma (caught up in the mood): “All right! Let's see who's the dead weight!” Tadase (in disbelief): “Such intense murderous intent, it's already taken physical form...” His brothers watched the show with great enjoyment. But all it takes is one sentence for every character mentioned above (except Kukai) to turn against him. “Utau (Amu), be my girlfriend!” said Kukai.
