The Beta Only Craves My Looks

On the first day back in the country, Qi Mian ran away in an act of rebellion.

As night fell, a handsome boy squatting outside a bar and taking drags from a cigarette drew curious glances.

No one knew that he was also sizing up tonight's prey.

Then a pair of long, straight legs stopped in front of him.

Qi Mian glanced up and immediately realized that this beta liked his face.

He obediently put out his cigarette and showed his pointed canines. "Teacher, are you taking me home?"

The morning after

Clutching a stack of bills, Qi Mian narrowed his eyes.

When they met again, he grabbed the beta's sleeve, hiding his wickedness behind a wounded expression. "Just because you're a beta, does that mean you don't have to take responsibility for a poor little A?"

To his surprise, the beta was silent for three seconds, then calmly pulled a stack of papers from his briefcase. This time, it wasn't money, but neatly bound documents printed on A4 paper.

Beta: "I like your face. You're only after my money."

Qi Mian looked at the square-edged "agreement," then at the stiff, boring beta. Suddenly baring his canines, he said with keen interest, "No, I'm after you, too."

Couple: A flamboyant, spoiled, handsome wolfdog top x a gentle, aloof, somewhat clumsy professor bottom

[In truth: An immature, shameless little rascal top x a stuffy, old-fashioned man in public and a lewd old fuddy-duddy in private bottom]

Reader's guide: The top and bottom are not teacher and student. The top studies abroad, and the bottom is a professor in China.

1. Contains a pregnancy and childbirth plot. The bottom has always been a beta, but the influence of pheromones causes a false-O physiological response [author's setting]. His atrophied reproductive canal opens, then becomes necrotic after he gives birth, so it is surgically removed and he becomes a normal beta again.

2. The top loves acting cute and being clingy. He looks like a puppy, but is a wolfdog at heart.

3. The bottom dotes on the top early on; later, they dote on each other.

4. The author is a sucker for melodrama. This is a little over-the-top, with some angst for spice. Expect a sweet-and-sour ride.

5. Most importantly: [Emphasis] This is not friendly to fans who are particular about character dynamics. There are no moral standards to discuss, so don't bring them up.

Theme: Learning to grow by lowering your head.
