Jiang Yichen noticed that a hideous little doll, bleeding from all seven orifices, was always perched on his deskmate's shoulder. No wonder his deskmate was sick every other day.

Though young, Master Jiang was already a well-respected name among the younger generation of the metaphysical world. He decided to exorcise the ugly doll and spend more time with his deskmate, so those ghosts and goblins wouldn't dare come near him.

The yin energy at Shuowu No. 1 High School was off the charts. Every day, Jiang Yichen was either seeing ghosts or on his way to see them. Even a quick trip to buy a bottle of water at night could bring him face-to-face with a lingering little ghost who cut in line. Furious, he returned to the dorm with his water, sat on his deskmate's bed, and asked the boy diligently studying at the desk across from him, "Ji Qingmo, do you believe there are ghosts in this world?"

Ji Qingmo glanced at him and said, "Thanks for asking. I suggest you study the Core Socialist Values carefully."

Jiang Yichen: ...

Foolish! Beyond saving!

Later, the little ghost who'd cut in line turned vicious and killed a student. Jiang Yichen got the news, grabbed his gear, and rushed downstairs, only to see his frequently ill deskmate gripping the ghost by the neck with one hand. With a squeeze, the ghost vanished from this world.

Ji Qingmo wiped his hands and turned to head back to the dorm for a nap, only to find his roommate staring at him with an extremely complicated expression. The roommate forced an awkward smile. "What a coincidence."

Ji Qingmo: "...Let me explain..."

Jiang Yichen kept that awkward smile on his face. "Dear, I suggest you study the Core Socialist Values carefully."
