Coasting Through the Infinite Games

My next novel will be "No Matter When We Return," a sweet Republican-era supernatural story with a guaranteed happy ending. It's already in my profile. Feel free to check it out if you're interested~

When He Heng, a top-ranked player known for taking down opponents, first met Jiang Shuxing, Jiang Shuxing had a conspicuous name over his head: "Noobie Little Star."

The young man had been rejected by his team for being too low-level and insulted as a "noob." He clutched He Heng's clothes without saying a word, looking truly pitiful.

So He Heng took him in.

"Big Shot He, I guess that Pixiu is in the box on the left."

"It's probably on the right."

He Heng always thought he'd taken in an incredibly lucky rookie. Sure, his level was a little low, but he was genuinely lucky.

It wasn't until the Pixiu leaped out of the box on the left, opened its enormous maw, and prepared to swallow Jiang Shuxing whole, only to see something that made it stagger backward and then crouch on the ground, looking pitifully at Jiang Shuxing, that He Heng realized how completely wrong he'd been.

He heard the Pixiu say, "Brother Xing, if I run away now, can you pretend you never saw me?"

Then the little wimp laughed and said, sounding utterly badass, "Go ahead and try."

● The whole thing is made up, there's no logic. Just enjoy it.

● Younger man x older man, both powerful. Our Xing is a bottom for love!

● It's not written well, and I'm the first to admit it. Nitpickers, stay away.

● The story involves ghosts and spirits, but I'm a true successor to socialism.

Theme: The darkness will fade, and the light will always come.
