[Harry Potter] The Woman Named Helen

As a prefect, Lucius had always known there was a rather pretty girl in Slytherin: Helen Flora.

A rare Muggle-born in Slytherin, she shamelessly pursued him, Lucius Malfoy: noble pure-blood, single, and wealthy. Lucius treated every Slytherin with his usual hypocritical (crossed out) kindness, and paid her no mind because he found her pursuit laughable.

Lucius would never be interested in a frivolous, delusional girl like Helen Flora. How could she compare to his beautiful, charming, noble, elegant Cissy, who even looked gorgeous when she rolled her eyes?

In Helen's first year, Lucius received a Christmas gift from her. He had a House-elf put it in his storage room, where it joined all the other unremarkable gifts. He received ninety-nine Christmas presents a year, if not a hundred, and Helen's gift wasn't worth opening.

In Helen's second year, Lucius's father, Abraxas, told him to give the girl a Christmas present. Lucius didn't know why his father had taken such a liking to her, but he obediently prepared a gift.

During Lucius's final year at Hogwarts, his father told him to give Helen a Muggle anthology from the family library: The Nightingale and the Rose.

Lucius hadn't realized then that his father was giving the girl flowers. By the time he understood, it was too late. She had brazenly become part of his family.
