Don't Be Rash, Put the Knife Down First

A rogue cultivator named Yun Hu suddenly appeared in the cultivation world, carrying a black-glinting broadsword. She was ruthless and sharp-tongued... and mute. Yun Hu always kept to herself. Then one day, a young man appeared at her side, insisting on teaching her how to speak. The first thing he taught her was a single word: "Get lost." "No matter the situation or who you're talking to, just remember this one word. It'll always come in handy." People in the cultivation world noticed that the rogue cultivator named Yun Hu had changed. Before, elders from every sect would warn their juniors: "When you're out and about, don't provoke Yun Hu. She's always been arrogant, never wastes words, and draws her blade as soon as she sees someone." Later, those same elders would say gravely: "If you run into Yun Hu while you're out and about and she tells you to get lost, then get out of there as fast as you can!" The juniors were baffled. "Why?" The elders shuddered at the memory. "Because she's about to draw her blade." The entire cultivation world: Yun Hu, don't be rash! Put down your sword first! Let's talk this out! --- Transmigrated as the Hero's Stepmother in a Redemption Novel --- Before bed, Qin You had stayed up all night boosting a client's game rank. When she woke up, she had transmigrated into a book, a school-life redemption novel. The male lead, Lin Yanbai, lost his mother when he was young. Until the age of ten, he and his grandfather depended on each other. After his grandfather died of illness, he was sent to live with his scumbag father. He had to do the laundry, cook, and pick up trash, while his father took his money to buy alcohol and beat him whenever he got drunk. And this scumbag father had even found him a stepmother. The stepmother wasn't any kinder to the boy. Whenever his scumbag father beat her, she'd turn around and take it out on the boy twice as hard. In other words, she was a bully who picked on the weak. Qin You had transmigrated into the role of that stepmother. When she arrived, she was holding a basin of ice water, about to pour it over the boy's head. The forecast said the temperature was near freezing. It was bitterly cold, and the boy already had a fever that left him delirious. Qin You immediately dropped the basin. She had been an orphan in her previous life and had dropped out of school early, so she wasn't well educated, but at least she had a conscience. She wasn't so deranged that she'd abuse a child. Lin Yanbai noticed that his stepmother had changed. When his scumbag father yanked her hair, she didn't take it out on him. Instead, she shaved his hair off, then stood by his bed in the middle of the night with a knife, laughing eerily. His father was so scared that he stayed away from home for over half a month. She also stopped asking Lin Yanbai for money. Though she was nowhere to be seen all day, one morning she handed him a handful of small bills and told him with a yawn, "Here's your allowance for the week. Ask me for more if it isn't enough." Later, when the school called in his guardian, she rushed over. When he came first in his exams, she happily took him out for a lavish meal. For his eighteenth birthday, she took him to have a suit custom-made... Many, many years later, Lin Yanbai would still remember the day she decided to divorce his scumbag father. She looked him in the eye and asked seriously, "Do you want to come with me?" He was glad he had said yes. He was also glad that she had been sent to him that winter, when he had nearly burned to death from a fever. Theme: The world is bright, and everything is lovely.
