The Empress Is a Gentle Blade

[The blurb may change, but the broad direction will stay the same. It leans toward political intrigue and palace scheming.]

[Brilliant empress who takes revenge on a wretched emperor × Enigmatic, iron-handed eunuch who has secretly loved the heroine for years]

Everyone knows Gu Zhi is a scheming eunuch, so clever he seems almost demonic. He has killed countless people and never shows mercy.

During the struggle over the tiger tally, Shen Rujiao watched with her own eyes as her husband, Prince Su, killed her father and brothers.

Everyone said Gu Zhi and Prince Su were two of a kind, and that they would never spare the Shen family.

Yet beneath the bright moon, Gu Zhi strode through the bloodstained night and respectfully presented her with the tiger tally.

He bent the knee and pledged himself to her alone.

Later, Prince Su ascended the throne, and Shen Rujiao became empress.

She turned the hatred that had gnawed at her that night into a blade, hiding it beneath her gentle, dignified exterior.

The people said Empress Shen was kindhearted and generous, treating the orphaned children of traitors with care.

They did not know she was deliberately raising a threat that could one day turn against her.

The palace attendants said Empress Shen was gentle and gracious, and never jealous.

They did not know she was the one stirring up the harem and throwing the court into disarray.

The emperor believed Empress Shen still knew nothing of the truth, and loved him so deeply that she was even willing to pretend to cooperate with a eunuch for his sake.

He did not know how, within the high walls of the inner palace, Gu Zhi used a thin robe of paper to warm the shattered bright moon, and fell with her into a love that would end only in death.
