[Old-school online game story, set in 2013]
In middle school, Ye An played an online game called Flourishing Age. She was an incredibly skilled poison healer, one of the few women on the rankings, and she partnered up with a cute newbie assassin in the starter village.
They stuck together every day, running dungeons and fighting bosses, as lovey-dovey as could be.
Later, a family upheaval forced Ye An to move abroad, and she had to give up the game.
Six years later...
Ye An returned to China for university. When she saw an ad for Flourishing Age in the subway, she downloaded the game again. But when she logged in, she couldn't remember her old password, so she created an alternate account and played for a while. Then, during an in-game event, she recovered her password. As soon as she logged in, she ran into a guild war.
And Ye An's poison healer was standing right in the middle of the two guilds.
"Who's this healer? Why does she have the Wind God's soulmate tag?"
"Holy crap, the tragic heroine's back!"
Sui Feng stepped out from his guild and typed, "You finally decided to come back!"
Wu Yue stepped out too and typed, "An'an, send me your contact info and address."
"Huh?" Ye An opened their profile pages. ID: [Sui Feng]. Relationship with you: soulmate spouses. ID: [Wu Yue]. Relationship with you: best friend.
Ye An remembered that Wu Yue was his distant cousin, while Sui Feng had been the newbie assassin.
Now they were both big shots. Ye An typed quietly, "Actually, I'm a guy... Should I put on a dress or something?"
Zhou Sui Feng: "I don't care if you're a man or a woman. You're mine either way."
Theme: Like the wind slipping in at night, quietly moistening all things.
