One day, a photo appears in the CP fan community. It's a candid shot with the grainy quality of an old landline phone camera. You can just make out half of Lu Yunshu's profile as he affectionately holds someone else's hand.
That night, "Who is the female lead?" shoots up the trending list.
Meanwhile, the "female lead" in the photo lowers his cap and pins someone firmly against the wall, speaking one word at a time.
"Changed your mind? Getting married, huh? Did you swallow all those promises from five years ago and let them go to the dogs?"
Lu Yunshu says nothing. His hand tightens on Bai Yuwan's shoulder.
Bai Yuwan's nose stings, but he still looks furious. "Say something! You used to be so good at sweet-talking me..."
Before he can finish, Lu Yunshu suddenly steps closer, smoothly takes off his cap, and speaks softly, his restraint giving way to a hint of madness.
"I've spent these past five years looking for you, you know, puppy."
