The Moon Loves You Most

Growing up, Su Qing was sensible and obedient, always among the top students, winning awards in competitions. She came this close to being the kind of child everyone else was compared to.

That tiny difference was Ji Jiazhou, who was born in the same hospital and lived across the hall from her in an apartment building with two homes on each floor.

She and Ji Jiazhou grew up together in the same courtyard, went to the same kindergarten and elementary school, ended up in neighboring classes in middle school, and were classmates again in high school. Even choosing different academic tracks didn't weaken their bond. Maybe their fate had been building for three lifetimes to become this strong. Ji Jiazhou said, “You're my best friend.” Su Qing said, “Mm,” thinking, “Who said you're my friend?”

When they were little, Su Qing didn't understand much, only that she had to take care of “little sister Jiazhou.” As they got older, Ji Jiazhou kept finding ways to stir up trouble and dragged Su Qing along with her. Later, everything Ji Jiazhou did seemed wonderful. Su Qing was both wildly jealous of her and utterly in awe of her.

Eventually, Su Qing fell in love with the Ji Jiazhou who had always been by her side.

She thought she'd never say it, but she did. She thought she'd never get a response, but she did. When they came of age, Su Qing gave Ji Jiazhou a present, and Ji Jiazhou gave one back.

“I love you too.”

Oblivious, childish goofball (Ji Jiazhou) x quiet little iceberg (Su Qing)

The goofball didn't realize someone liked her, and didn't realize Su Qing was the only one she liked.

The little iceberg isn't all that aloof. She just has a lot going on in her head.
