By a twist of fate, Wen Baishui moves into Gu Lin's home.
Living under someone else's roof, and following her mother's instructions, she is careful every day to play the role of a well-behaved, refined young lady.
Until an accident. One morning, she comes out of her bedroom yawning, casually swinging an entire doorknob in her hand.
Gu Lin: ?
After the two stare at each other in silence for half a minute
Wen Baishui: "Sorry, let me do that again."
So, under Gu Lin's gaze, she calmly takes the doorknob, closes the door, puts it back on, and opens the door again.
For a long time afterward, Gu Lin always makes sure to open the door before she can.

Gu Lin is dragged by a friend to a blind date. He plans to just go through the motions, but his date turns out to be Wen Baishui.
Chewing on a marshmallow, she asks in surprise, "How much do you charge per hour?"
Wen Baishui assumes he's been hired to be a decoy at the blind date too. Gu Lin says nothing.
An hour later, Wen Baishui dusts off her hands and gets ready to leave. Gu Lin stops her.
She frowns slightly and explains, "I have another one. If you're done early, you can leave first."
Gu Lin lowers his eyes and says coolly, "Two months' rent. The rest of your time is mine."
Wen Baishui: !? You think money makes you so special?
Yes, it does.
Wen Baishui is successfully taken away by Gu Lin.
Much later, a friend asks about it. Gu Lin hands him a red envelope.
Gu Lin: "To thank you, you don't need to give me a wedding gift. Just show up."
Friend: ??? So the wife you gave me is only worth a wedding gift?
