The On-Screen Comments Told Me Gin Is the Only Real Deal

Reborn as a fake liquor sales representative, but having never watched Detective Conan, Che feels like he’s as good as dead.

Then he sees the comments floating in front of him and catches a whiff of spoilers. Suddenly, he’s alive again.

What he doesn’t know is that all the comments he can see have already had their spoilers removed.

And so things gradually take a strange turn:

After a murder, Che stares at the classic three suspects in front of him, unable to decide who the culprit is.

Comment 1: [Who’s the culprit?]

Comment 2: [I’ll just say it: The culprit is Conan!]

Comment 3: [What nonsense... It’s obviously the soccer ball.]

Che, frantically investigating: ? Are you guys okay?

Back at the liquor syndicate, Che keeps his guard up, unsure whether those around him are friend or foe. He really hopes the comments will spoil who the fake liquor is.

Then, while reporting to his intimidating boss, Che really does see comments flash by:

Comment 1: [Which one is the fake liquor, besides Che? I really want to know.]

Comment 2: [Gin is the fake liquor.]

Comment 3: [Exactly, everyone except Gin is real liquor.]

Che, who’s a fake liquor himself: Holy crap, so the boss is on my side!

Thanks, comments, thanks! Che feels a weight lift off his shoulders after successfully getting a spoiler.

So, after figuring out who’s friend and who’s foe, Che starts treating Gin with the warmth of a spring breeze, while being as harsh as a winter wind toward everyone else.

Che: Heh, with the comments spoiling everything for me, I feel right at home.

Comment 1: [Is Che... defecting?]

Comment 2: [I don’t think so. Maybe he’s just fallen for Gin’s charms.]

1. Pairing: Gin

2. This is just a silly story I wrote for fun. There’s not much deduction, so just enjoy it and relax. :D

Theme: Patience is a virtue.
