After I Bumped Into the Chief Guide

#Help!! My Spirit Beast Is Secretly Getting Up to No Good Behind My Back!#

.

Pei Yuwen got roped into a relationship by a delicate, pampered little “ball of yarn.”

All she did was accidentally pinch one of its little loose threads.

But it immediately turned all pitiful, changing into a melancholy ocean blue as the whole ball cried until it was damp.

Its loose thread even angrily wound around her fingertip.

And tied itself into a bow.

It looked determined to make Pei Yuwen take responsibility.

When Pei Yuwen went out, it hopped into her pocket.

When Pei Yuwen slept, it nestled in the hollow of her neck.

And if Pei Yuwen refused to indulge it, things got bad.

The ball of yarn gave up on itself and unraveled into a heap of yarn right where it sat.

Its grayish-white color was heartbreaking.

Its actions made its message clear: it didn't want to be a ball.

It seemed like it could only just barely go on living if Pei Yuwen apologized and wound it back into a perfectly round ball of yarn.

.

Chu Xin realized that someone else had gotten close to her spirit beast.

There was plenty of evidence.

For example, the ball of yarn had taken a liking to a new fragrance.

For example, it hadn't asked her to straighten its yarn in ages.

For example, it even tied pretty bows with its loose thread.

During an accidental shared-sensation episode, Chu Xin saw her romantic rival through her spirit beast.

Tall, fair, and devastatingly beautiful.

Chu Xin, the discarded, long-suffering wife: crying with rage, she turned away in hurt and pointed her loose thread at her rival.

Her rival softened her voice. “Why are you upset again?”

Then she saw the ball of yarn turn a passionate, bashful strawberry pink.
