Tao Shuran used to hate summer more than anything. She couldn't understand the passion and romance people wrote about in books.
Then, on the first day of high school, she stood in a crowd, drenched in sweat, and caught sight of Jiang Hanqi from afar. Suddenly, it all made sense.
"She's like a breeze that tastes of watermelon, sweeping away all this heat and humidity," she blushingly told her friend.
Her friend patted her shoulder and sighed. "That's because you've fallen for an ice mountain."
Jiang Hanqi was a beautiful, poker-faced girl from a prestigious family, and the top student in the whole district. Countless admirers were either intimidated by her abilities or frozen in their tracks by her beauty. Not one could get close to her.
Tao Shuran didn't need to count on her fingers to know she had no chance, so she tried to put her feelings away somewhere safe.
But no matter what she did, she couldn't take them back
One night, Tao Shuran dreamed that she and her goddess had been married for years, were a loving couple, and even had a daughter. Terrified, she scrambled out of bed and fled before dawn, only to run into the star of her dream at school.
Running into her wasn't enough. The star of her dream called her over?
Offered to tutor her?
Took her home?
Hugged her?
Said she liked her??
Watching the ice mountain melt into a spring, Tao Shuran touched her burning cheeks and came to a conclusion
This is it. I must still be dreaming.
Many years later, at a family gathering, a friend teased Tao Shuran, vividly recounting to her wife how she had suddenly fallen for watermelon flavor.

"All right," Jiang Hanqi replied softly. Her bright eyes were full of Tao Shuran's reflection, and a gentle smile played on her face. "Then next time, tell me in advance what you like. I can change into anything you want."

I had collected this book a long time ago, but for some reason I forgot about it. I happened to come across it when I was browsing for reviews today, and I read it in one sitting.
