Qin Mengmeng studied civil engineering for four years, then landed a job at a construction site after graduation. After two years of getting covered in dust, she quickly became dark, dry, and skinny. When she smiled, her bright white teeth stood out. She went home for the New Year, and her parents and younger brother all hugged her and cried.
Qin Mengmeng thought she was doing fine, though. She was cheerful and resilient, and vowed to devote her life to the country's magnificent landscapes. She planned to stay at construction sites for the rest of her life.
Then she was kicked into the Haunted Live Stream, where she became a horror streamer. The kind who has to see ghosts.
The streaming room stays the same, but its streamers come and go. Streamer No. 76 had just died, and Qin Mengmeng had the honor of becoming No. 77. The longtime viewers openly placed bets right in front of her. "Will the streamer die in five minutes or ten? Thirty minutes is the absolute most she could last. No way she lasts longer than that. This is New City High, the most brutal school in the entire underworld."
Qin Mengmeng: "Damn it!"
In the pitch-black school bathroom, a blood-red shadow crept under the door. Qin Mengmeng said, "I know I interrupted your rest and you're upset, but what if I build you a new bathroom? A private one, with separate wet and dry areas and a temperature-controlled triangular bathtub?"
The blood stopped flowing.
Black words appeared on the mirror: "The faucet has to be gold-plated."
Qin Mengmeng: "OJBK."
Qin Mengmeng survived five minutes, ten minutes, thirty minutes, making her way from the school bathroom to the classrooms and then the dorms. She encountered thousands of evil spirits, but never died.
She broke the record for longest survival among all 76 streamers, and won every bet placed by the viewers.
She even tore down New City High, the most dreaded school in the entire underworld, and built a new one.
When she left the new New City High, she strode around the underworld, radiating the gentle, harmless aura of a living person. Every entity that saw her was tempted to pounce, drooling and plotting something sinister.
Everyone in the streaming room wailed for the foolish ghosts who didn't know what they were up against:
"They only saw a living person on the stream and didn't notice the whole gang of red-robed ghosts, big and small, following her?"
"Run! The demolition crew is here! Your home is about to be gone!"
Female lead: sweet girl (pretend), not sick, not crazy.
Warnings: The author has never worked at a construction site, so this whole story is full of stereotypes, dark humor, underworld jokes, a bunch of things that aren't human, and things that are human but don't act like it. Still, the overall spirit is positive and uplifting, and everyone gets a happy ending.
If you enjoy the author's work, please add it to your favorites!
Content note: I'm happy to discuss plot logic and coherence, update speed, typos, plot structure, character portrayals, and related issues. I won't accept arguments accusing the author of favoring men and hating women, scrutinizing the author's personal beliefs with a ruler, comparing the amount of male and female content or their respective roles, or demanding that certain words be replaced with others. Please stay away from me, you fanatics. Go far away, thanks.
[Coming Soon: I Am the Abyss]
Synopsis:
As human civilization gradually approaches its end, a mysterious red-eyed angel descends upon the world with a live-streaming System.
The strongest beings from every universe in the infinite multiverse are chosen by it and forced to represent their universes in battle.
The victor ascends to a higher dimension.
The losers are destroyed!
The fate of all humanity is placed in the hands of the "strongest."
Despair spreads.
"How can humanity possibly fight immortals, elves, gods, and mecha? We're just a technological civilization. Our strongest can only be human, so we're no match for those monsters. We're doomed."
In the frenzy of the world's end, everyone sees the one chosen to represent humanity in battle: the "strongest."
A gentle woman lives peacefully in a courtyard full of flowers, feeding cats and walking dogs. Under the gaze of all humanity, she scratches her cheek and asks in confusion, "Me? Fight? I hate fighting."
Despairing cries ring out:
"Earth is finished."
"Humanity is completely finished."
"We're all finished."
"Wait, what is that?! What terrifying power!"
Annie, a transmigrator who tore through the universe and returned to Earth from the abyss, gently traces the shape of a summoning circle.
Bone dragons, zombies, Medusas.
Behind the battle formation of surging abyssal creatures, Annie sits enthroned upon a throne woven from deathly vines. She pours herself a cup of warm tea, then sighs. "I really hate fighting."
She never even looks toward the battlefield ahead.
Her subjects have already brought her victory.
[National destiny genre (?) + summoner (?) + variety show game (?) Anyway, anyone who's read my previous work knows I don't follow the usual path. No genre or style can hold me back, so if you're interested, read the story itself. The story is the final word, and the only thing I can promise is that the female lead is invincible.]
[Completed quick transmigration novel: One Slash to Split the Shura Arena, 430,000 characters, ready to read]
Theme: The hands of workers are the most worthy treasures in the world.
